Tim Pat is among a trio of experts quoted in today’s Sunday Times dismissing a claim that the future taoiseach was “turned” by the British after the Easter Rising in 1916. In a new book, American John Turi sets out his theory that Éamon de Valera became a spy in return for not being put on trial for his part in the rebellion. Tim Pat describes the idea as fanciful.
